Last week, Horsell Lodge care home staff opened their care home visiting pod for use by residents and their families. Located near Woking in Surrey, Horsell Lodge is part of the Caring Homes group, an independent, family owned, national network of residential, nursing and dementia homes providing person-centred care.
Caring Homes opted for one of Showplace Ltd’s mobile visiting pods for care homes to ensure they had the flexibility to move the pod within their group of care homes. Currently, the pod is situated at Horsell Lodge but in time, this mobile visiting facility may be moved to other locations.
The care home visiting pod concept has been designed specifically with multi-site care home groups in mind. It is ideal for those who would benefit from a visiting solution which can be shared between multiple locations in a relatively short period of time. Boasting vinyl flooring and wipe clean surfaces throughout, the pods are extremely easy to sanitise between visits as well as between site relocations. When moving between homes, care groups can transport the mobile visitor pods themselves, or alternatively, the Showplace team can provide a fully managed service. Available for hire or purchase, these care home visiting pods are the most flexible option currently available for care home groups at this particularly challenging time.
Transported to care homes by trailer, we lower our pods to ground level, avoiding the use of steps to allow easier access to the visiting facility for wheelchair users. All our visitor pods are compartmentalised into two separate, air-tight areas, each with its own door. Scenic backdrops, heating, lighting and a two-way intercom system are also provided, along with access ramps. Once delivered and installed, they are ready for immediate use!
